Styling doesn’t get more simple when you have a capsule wardrobe. Being that each piece in the capsule is interchangeable with the next, there are hundreds of possible outfit combinations. You can even check out my Spring 2023 capsule wardrobe for more ideas! Today, I am going to show you how to style a white tank, a classic button down, a dress and a t-shirt.
STYLING A CAPSULE WARDROBE WHITE TANK
With the white tank, you can truly pair ANY bottom. For the shoes, pick a pair that goes well with the style of bottoms.
STYLING A CAPSULE WARDROBE CLASSIC BUTTON DOWN
With a button down, you can layer over or under it, or wear it on it’s own. Sometimes, I even wear my button downs over a swimsuit as a cover up!
STYLING A CAPSULE WARDROBE DRESS
Dresses are perfect for dressing up or dressing down. You can pair them with just about any shoes, depending on the occasion/dress code. Heck, you can even pair your dress with sneakers! If you’re dressing for a night out, throw a layering jacket/sweater over your dress.
STYLING A CAPSULE WARDROBE T-SHIRT
T-shirts are another versatile option – just like the white tank! You can pair a t-shirt with just about any bottom, for any occasion. You can dress it up OR dress it down! Again, you can easily layer if needed. You’ll not only look good, but you’ll be comfortable!
The Importance of Accessorizing
Accessories really are the star of the show when it comes to styling your capsule wardrobe pieces. Being that most of the clothing is neutral + basic, you can really elevate your look by adding some bling and a purse. I recommend getting a few staple jewelry items: 2-3 necklaces, 3-5 bracelets, 3 pairs of earrings, and 2-3 purses is about all you’ll need. Here are a few of my favorite accessories!
Don’t Shy Away From *Some* Color
My capsule wardrobe has a few pops of color, that still feel neutral. For example, blue stripes on a button down or red stripes on a tank top. I also have a pair of olive green cargo shorts in my Summer capsule. As long as the article of clothing can be worn with multiple different bottoms/tops, it will fit in the capsule.
