Set it and forget it…These crock pot ribs are the best I’ve had, short of the actual grilling method of course! This is a very simple recipe that I came across a few years ago and have since adapted it to our preferences over time. This is my go to method when I want ribs during the week and have a million things going on. We’re eating them within a half-hour of getting home, and they turn out perfect every time!
Ingredients:
3 pounds baby back ribs, trimmed – TBH, I loooove Costco Ribs (pre-seasoned)
Salt & pepper, to taste (optional – highly recommend if not using pre-seasoned)
1 can of coke or 1 can of beer
½ onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, chopped
Your favorite bbq sauce – My go to recently has been Lily’s BBQ Sauce, low in sugar big in bold, bbq sauce flavor.
Directions:
-
Season ribs with salt and pepper, unless you bought pre-seasoned
-
Pour cola (or beer) into crock pot. Layer the ribs into the slow cooker.
-
Place onion and garlic in the middle of ribs
-
Cook on High for 4 hours (or Low for 8 hours). Once ready to remove from crock pot,
-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
-
Transfer ribs to a lined baking sheet. Discard onion and garlic. Coat ribs with barbeque sauce.
-
Bake in preheated oven until the sauce caramelizes and sticks to the meat, approx. 10 to 15 minutes
-
Enjoy with coleslaw and truffle mashed potatoes!
