Seasonal bar cart styling is my newest thing. They’re the one small little decor project that I look forward to taking on every few months and make having a cocktail at the end of a long day just a little more fun.
For me, bar cart design is all about balance and layering; tall vs. short, big vs. small, and where to add in little pops of detail. Walking you through my process in today’s post with some of my favorite tips and tricks for designing the perfect Holiday bar cart!
Level Up!
The top level of your bar cart will always be your main focus. With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to bring in some fun decor with pops of crystal and gold to coordinate with holiday aesthetics from around our room. I recommend mixing in some height to achieve a more balanced look. Have some fun with textures and colors. Back corner spaces on a bar cart are a great place for a floral arrangement or a decorative object. We have been gifted with many beautiful bottles of scotch, bourbon and whisky; these bottles are a “pretty”display along side these beautiful scotch decanters. These two decanters are older, but here you can find similar ones here that also come with low ball glasses (https://amzn.to/34qK42o). I decided to add low level decor for this project by adding a holiday fragranced candle, which make the space warm and inviting and a shallow gold rimmed bowl (https://www.athome.com/deco-ribbed-gldrim-bowl-sm/124289446.html?rrec=true) with spiced nuts.
For me, the bar cart has always been about a visual decor display, rather than convenience. For that reason, I split up my glass sets and keep some on the cart, while others remain tucked away in our butler’s pantry with easy access. I buy most of my glasses in sets of 6 or 8, but you’ll see that I used mostly sets of 2 and 4 for this design. I don’t want to overcrowd the cart.
Lower Level
Think of the bottom level of your bar cart as your overflow…that should still look pretty. It’s a great place for larger or wider sets of glassware that you want to keep out, or bigger bottles that may take up too much room on top. Similarly to the top, I recommend mixing in some decor. I decided to highlight my new glassware I found recently.

I found these cute pink champagne coupe glasses with a gold rim from At Home. They are such a pretty addition to a bar cart for all seasons. Jerry and I usually have a specialty cocktail he likes to create in these!

I also found these stemless star wine and champagne glasses At Home! They are so festive and would work well during the Fourth of July as well! The gold stars play off of the gold rim from the mini coupe glasses perfectly.
