I’m a collector of small kitchen appliances, gadgets and cookbooks. So when my friends all started buying Airfryers, I felt like I needed one too! Now mind you, I have a sous-vide tool that is still in my pantry, unused from two years ago 😏
I was a tad hesitant to purchase an air fryer, immediately anyway….
Well, I ended up purchasing one after my friend Jen told me her kids use it to “cook” for themselves. She raved how amazing chicken wings came out. and how the clean up was a breeze. 👍🏼 Sold!
…And then the Airfryer sat in its Amazon box for two months 😶 (maybe longer…) If it weren’t for said friend making chicken wings at my house for Super Bowl, it would have stayed packed away for longer.
BUT! They were so delicious, so easy, so fast. and gone in less than five minutes! The possibilities are endless, my mind was spinning. I ripped open that box and brought out what would become my all time favorite kitchen gadget.
I’ve put a list together of my top three favorite things to make in my new favorite kitchen appliance – the Phillips Premium Airfryer XXL:
Salmon
Ingredients:
-
Salmon fillet – similar size portions
-
Salt/Pepper to taste
-
Drizzle or teaspoon per fillet of good extra virgin olive oil
Directions:
-
Place Salmon fillets in Airfryer basket side by side giving a little space between
-
Set air fryer to 380 degrees for approx. 10-12 minutes depending on your preference
-
When times goes off, open basket and check salmon with a fork to make sure they are done to your desired preference
Chicken Wings
Ingredients:
-
1.5-2 lbs of chicken wings
-
Salt/Pepper
-
Choice of sauce/seasonings (I like Soyaki from Trader Joes – I use about 1/2 C.)
Directions:
-
Wash and pat dry chicken wings
-
Season to taste with salt and pepper
-
Place chicken wings in air fryer basket and set timer for 15 minutes at 350 degrees
-
After timer goes off, put wings in a bowl and season with desired sauce or spices – toss and evenly coat
-
Place wings back in air fryer basket and cook for another 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees
Whole Roasted Chicken
Ingredients:
-
3 lb whole chicken
-
2 T. Butter softened
-
Salt/Pepper
-
2 T Onion Powder
-
2 T Garlic Powder
-
2 T Lemon Pepper
-
1 T of paprika
Directions:
-
Wash and pat dry chicken
-
Loosen the skin from the breast meat of the chicken. You can use your finger or a small spatula
-
Spread the softened butter in the area under the skin you just loosened. Make sure you get both sides!
-
Season to taste with salt and pepper and add onion powder, garlic powder, lemon pepper and paprika. (You can use your own favorite spice blend if you don’t want to use mine)
-
Place chicken **breast side down**in air fryer basket and set timer for 30 minutes at 350 degrees
-
After timer goes off, pull out the basket and turn the chicken over **breast side up** and set timer for another 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees
-
After the timer goes off, check internal temperature to make sure it is at 165 degrees. Let chicken sit for 10 minutes
Tip: Open the basket while it’s cooking to make sure you have not overcooked your food, once you slide the basket back in to the air fryer it will automatically resume the remaining cooking time.
